pretend i'm you
and you are me
between our different views
its all we'll ever see
declining other ways
spending all our days
cycling through the game
but something's not the same
the story ends and yet begins
we play the game yet no one wins
holding hands and walking through
I thought I loved you but never knew
you're a stranger
somehow you traded me
for a man who cannot see
forgetting all that i was
supposed to be
but i'm still alive
exhausted still
climbing back
to my depleted will
i wonder how and why
I could be so dumb
the weakness that allowed
you and I to become...
the story ends and yet begins
we play the game yet no one wins
holding hands and walking through
I thought I loved you and never knew
we were strangers

Another stellar release from this long-lived ensemble. Though the King Crimson influence is obvious & that comparison unavoidable, these guys have made many great recordings that can't be categorized as 'mere copies'. The perfect balance of aggressive riffing and serene soundscapes. Stephen Roberts
If I found a magic lamp, and a genie popped out… one of my wishes would be to have these three master musicians creating in a group together.
Sounds like music that comes from a planet or country that doesn’t exist, at least as far as we know. Alien space grooves, tastefully cooked up in the hot sweltering touch guitar kitchens of Trey and Markus. Is there a better drummer on the planet than Pat Mastelotto? I don’t think so. Highly recommend. Raleigh Kathman
This is a quite outstanding opus magnus of Mr Thelen and his associate musicians. Musical and muscular prowess meet groove and melody. Highly recommended hypnotic stuff! Frank Hadlich
